The Bic Phone comes with 60 minutes of free calls that is valid for 2 months. The SIM card is already pre-installed, so all you have to do is turn on the phone's power.
Once your free time’s up, pre-paid airtime cards can be used to keep the phone active. If it runs out of battery power, you can charge it via a USB port. Alcatel manufactures the handset, and the phone number is included in the packaging.
Don’t expect too many features though, because Bic states that the phone’s only designed for making calls and sending text messages. Users can choose between a “Citrus Orange” or “Lime Green” colors.
BIC/Orange stressed out that it isn’t really a "a throw-away product," but more of a back-up phone for households to use when an extra, dedicated line might be useful.
The Bic phone costs €49 ($80) and is currently being offered in convenience stores all over France. Sorry, this one's got no camera in it.
